CPC Training

As from 10th September 2008 for PCV and 10th September 2009 for LGV all drivers wishing to use their licence for Hire and Reward will need to possess an additional qualification.

The Drivers CPC.

This qualification will require renewing at 5 yearly intervals.

New drivers will be required to acquire this qualification at the same time as their vocational licence.

All current drivers will have recieved their Drivers CPC qualification by acquired rights and will be required to renew their qualification every 5 years by attending 35 hours of approved Driver CPC periodic training, by taking Driver CPC courses lasting a minimum of 7 hours.

The courses can be on any topic that can be mapped to the Driver CPC sylabus and have been approved by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT).

Only approved courses delivered by approved providers and trainers will be eligible for entry onto the drivers CPC training database.

It will be the driver’s responsibility to ensure his Drivers CPC training record is up to date and to be able to prove that he has attended the number of hours of approved Driver CPC courses for his qualification to be renewed and that he can prove that he holds his Driver CPC qualification to the appropriate authorities.
