 FAA Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work (L3 RQF/L6 SCQF) (603/2080/1)

Course Content
The Emergency First Aid at Work course provides basic life saving first aid knowledge to delegates with the intention of enabling them to act as an appointed person. This qualification is especially suited for staff who are to be nominated as a First Aider in a low risk environment.
Delegates will be continually assessed by the Instructor throughout the course. Successful delegates will receive an Emergency First Aid certificate which remains valid for three years, after which a refresher course will be required.

On completion successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the role of a First Aider
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Communicate with a casualty
  • Understand the requirements regarding the contents of a first aid kit
  • Record incidents & accidents efficiently
  • Administer basic First Aid
Certification - Level 2

FAA Level 3 First Aid at Work (L3 RQF/L6 SCQF) (603/2081/3)

Course Content
This qualification complies with the guidelines and criteria as defined by the Health & Safety Executive in respect of the 1981 (First Aid) Regulations. The course covers all aspects of basic life support including CPR, bleeding, unconsciousness, choking, head injuries, sprains and strains and a vast range of First Aid conditions that staff may experience in the workplace.

FAA Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification (L3 RQF/L6 SCQF) (603/2081/3)

Course Content
Mandatory requalification of the FAW course, covering all the elements of the initial First Aid at Work course (as listed above). To be taken every 3 years.

Certification
Assessment is ongoing by the Instructor along with a question paper on each day.
A level 3 certificate will be issued to each delegate, which is valid for 3 years.

FAA Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (L3 RQF/L6 SCQF) (603/0911/8) 

Course Duration
2 day course

Course content
The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies on a professional level. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.
This two-day 12 hour qualification fulfils the requirements for first aid training detailed in the Department for Education’s Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. Learners who achieve this qualification will meet Ofsted requirements but it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that there is adequate cover for the establishment of both 2-day and 1-day qualified paediatric First Aid personnel.

FAA Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (L3 RQF/L6 SCQF) (603/0912/X)

Course Duration
1 day course

Course content
The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies and provides the knowledge and skills to deal with a range of paediatric first aid conditions and incidents. The FAA Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification is unit 1 of the two-day FAA Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification. From gaining this emergency paediatric first aid qualification learners could progress to completing unit 2 and being awarded the 2-day FAA Award in Paediatric First Aid

Annual First Aid at Work refresher

A non-compulsory but strongly recommended by the HSE annual first aid course. 
Covers a range of topics, and can be tailored to students' specific needs. Attendance certificate issued

Level 3 Activity First Aid (L3 RQF/L6 SCQF) (603/2235/4)

2-day course. Similar in content to EFAW, with added content tailored to outdoor activities.

Appointed Person

2-hour course. For employers who don’t require a First Aider, 
low risk employers with less than 25 employees, high risk with less than 5. 
A range of subjects is covered including:-

  •  Responsibilities
  •  Accident Reporting 
  •  Risk Assessment of First Aid needs. 
Max 16 delegates per course. 
Theoretical only.

FAA Level 2 Basic life support & Safe Use of an AED (L2 RQF/L5 SCQF) (601/5478/0)

4 hour course. 
Short course in BLS, for those looking to gain basic first aid knowledge and skills. 
To enable students to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, and how to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally. 
Practical assessment. 
Refresh every 3 years.

FAA Level 2 award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (L2 RQF/L5 SCQF) (600/1852/5

1 day course.
Qualification in performing CPR and the use of an AED including post resuscitation recovery and maintenance of AED. Practical assessment.
 Refresh 3 years

Level 2 First Aid Risk Assessment- (L2 RQF/L5 SCQF) (601/2365/5)

1 day course. 
This course will provide detailed information about the considerations and relevant factors in order to determine the needs and requirements and to ultimately produce a Risk Assessment of First Aid Needs for the business. 
Theory test.

Level 2 Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis (L2 RQF/L5 SCQF) (601/4738/6)

1-day course
This training is for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to enable them to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively. 
3-year refresh required. 
Some practical and written assessments.
