Warehousing NVQ

Apex Training in partnership with West Anglia Training Association, are offering young people aged 16-24 (NEET, Male or Female) in the Peterborough area the opportunity to undergo a 3 month Access to Apprenticeships in Warehousing and Distribution covering the following:

  • Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Warehousing & Storage
  • Key Skills Qualification in Application of Number and Communication
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

During the apprenticeship you will be developed to be ready to be employed in the stores, warehousing and logistics sector with possible progression to an advanced apprenticeship at Level 3.

Successful applicants will attend the Apex Training Centre to cover the 30 hour per week development syllabus. You will develop practical skills in using lift trucks, stores etc as well as the technical knowledge that underpins those practical skills.  You will develop your Key Skills in the areas referred to above, these key skills will be important to you throughout your life.

In addition to your warehouse development and throughout your apprenticeship training program, you will have the opportunity to gain alternative lifelong training courses, which will provide you with the appropriate skills to work within warehouse operations.

  • Learning to Drive or Ride
  • Emergency First aid
  • Manual Handling
  • Pallet truck
  • Pedestrian Pallet truck
  • Working at Heights (ladders)
  • Working at Heights (scissor lifts MEWP)
  • Vehicle reversing – Banksman/ Signaller
  • Loading vehicles safely ready for transportation
  • Safe use and operating vehicle tail-lifts

After a successful initial period of three months at the Apex Training Centre to prove your Ability, Aptitude, Attendance and Attitude. You will be supported to apply for employment with local companies to put into practice the new skills you have learnt.

Your travel expenses in attending the Apex Training Centre will be paid to you and you will receive a cash bonus of £100 on successful completion.
