B+E Towing License

Anyone who passed their Car (B) test on or after 1st  January 1997 no longer received the B+E category automatically. Therefore if you passed your test after 1st January 1997, and need to tow a trailer exceeding 750 kgs, you will be required to take the B+E practical test with the DVSA.

Course Description

There are no theory tests required for the B+E license. Candidates must undertake adequate training and take the practical test using suitable vehicles with a DVSA examiner.

Our typical B+E course is 3 sessions (4 hours per day), with the driver taking the practical test part way through the final session. Drivers can take additional sessions if they wish.

DVSA Test Content
  • Eyesight Test – Read Number plates from 20 meters
  • ‘Show me, Tell Me’ – 5 questions will be asked of you
  • Reverse Exercise – Off Road
  • General Road Driving – On Road
