Driver CPC - Periodic Training


Qualified drivers must complete 35 hours (5 days) of periodic training every 5 years in order to drive for hire and reward.


DVSA recommend that drivers attend 7 hours of training per year to keep updated with current legislation and practices.


We offer a comprehensive programme of classroom & online courses, covering a range of topics. All courses serve both LGV & PCV drivers.

APEX COURSE OFFER

Apex run CPC courses for both LGV and PCV drivers on a regular basis, each day counts as 7 hours DCPC. Drivers can attend in block or on a day release basis. Courses are usually conducted at our site in Peterborough, however we are able to deliver courses on-site for up to 20 employees per day.


 

  • Course 1  – Highway Code & Route Planning / Driver Health & Welfare
  • Course 2  – Vehicle Safe Loading / Digital Tachographs
  • Course 3 –  Drivers Hours Regulations / Managing Conflict & Difficult Situations
  • Course 4 –  Defect Checks & Reporting / Transport Security
  • Course 5 –  Driver Compliance / Hazard Perception & Road Safety
  • Course 6 –  Emergency First Aid at Work

On Completion

On completion of your training, Apex will upload your details to DVSA who will endorse your driving license. Once 35 hours have been completed, you will be sent your Drivers Qualification Card (DQC).

Drivers must attend 5 of the courses in order to achieve the 35 hours of DCPC.

Drivers attending the ADR (Hazardous Substances) course can gain up to 28 hours of DCPC alongside their ADR training.
